Are you creative?

No, I do not consider myself a creative person. But believe that not only artists, inventors, writers, designers can be creative. Anyone can learn this skill, just as you learn Math, History and other subjects.

But how to be creative? I’ve googled about creativity, and  I’ve discovered Murilo Gun’s online course Reaprendizagem Criativa (Relearning Creativity). That's it, I will take the course and see if I can learn to be creative.

In the course, I’ve discovered that all people born creative. However, we lose that ability because our society (parents, teachers and work) represses our innate creativity. Be good is synonymous of following what society think what is correct.  In general,  we  have a hostile environment for creativity.

Ah, so it is a matter of relearning how to be creative! It's not just a gift, although some people are born more intelligent and creative than others, but this is only potential, not action. In the book Creative Confidence, the authors Tom and David Kelley have wrote:

One prerequisite for achieving creative confidence is the belief that your innovation skills and capabilities are not set in stone.

I believe that anyone can be creative since they believe  and work hard in  it.

Following good methodologies and if you have an environmental place that stimulate your creativity is  a good way to solve problems. In order to do that,  I'm reading those excellent books below:

  1. Lean Startup by Eric Ries
  2. Creative Confidence: Unleashing the Creative Potential Within Us All, by Tom Kelley and David Kelley
  3. Design Thinking, by Tim Brown
  4. Creativity at Work and in Life, by Roberto Menna Barreto

Why do you want to be creative? Creativity is to solve any problem that requires a new way to look them. So, are you a creative person?
